The Metphone Cambodian League, which is the top league in Cambodia has just completed the first leg. Due to the Coronavirus there is less time to complete the league than previously planned. In the first leg all the teams in the league played each other once and this was meant to be the case in the second leg as well. However, due to time restrictions the 13 teams have now been split into two groups.

The Coronavirus has not been nearly as damaging in Southeast Asia as it has in other parts of the world. Vietnam and Cambodia have not had a single death reported so far. With that in mind you’d expect the effects on football to be less than the effect, leagues in other parts of the world have suffered. Most leagues in Europe have finished now or are nearly finished

2020 is the last year of the sponsorship agreement between True Vision and the FA Thailand for the rights to broadcast Thai football. For Thai football it was a bit of a worry as clubs rely on the money they get from TV sponsorship. It was the job of the FA Thailand to find a new sponsor or to renegotiate with True.
